ReSkilled: Working to restore hope

November 10, 2024| News + Events, Past Issues

Have you been unemployed for over 12 months… and you’d like to do something practical to help you back into work?

ReSkilled is a wood workshop based in Bellfields where you can grow in confidence, develop your general work skills and be helped into voluntary or paid work.

We are a charity who have been running for 2½ years and we help individuals aged 25 to state retirement age in a practical way. We don’t intend anyone to move into a wood-related job! We simply use the workshop as a means to encourage, build confidence and provide social interaction without the usual pressures of employment.

You can attend for a day a week over several months, and the timing has been set so that parents/carers with children in school can attend (9.15am – 2.45pm). You’ll make a variety of wooden pieces, some to keep and some that we sell at fairs or on Etsy to help fund ReSkilled. You don’t need any prior experience in woodwork – our staff and volunteers are always available to help!
